Reflections of

Chaco Canyon
Summer Solstice Journeys

As we arrived Grandfather Sky brought a double rainbow.

The rainbow is a sign of healing. Then came the rain storm, a purification. This will be a significant experience the Spirits said.

Spirit spoke to me at the first of this year. The message to take women to Chaco Canyon was clear. Those who were to come would find their way. The ceremonies would take us to another dimension.
After setting up camp we held prayer ceremony at the Great Kiva. For Solstice morning the park service had everyone gather. We walked to the Great Kiva drumming. Once there we continued to drum the sun up. Coyote called to us and Raven spoke to us. Father Sun came through the kiva marking the Sacred Solstice. Many were there from around the Earth Mother.
The four corners area is a magical place. There is a tangible energy of Sacredness.

It was a wonderful reflective time! The things that stand out in my mind were the Double Rainbow, Ravens not in mass but 1 to 4 at a time, the cleansing rain on night one, along with the opening ceremony in my little tent, our individual 1/2 day journey's, the love energy all around! Love you and thank you for the setting! xo Suzy

As I reflect on my return to Chaco this year, change is first thing to come to mind. From the time of arrival the greetings of a Double Rainbow I knew we were where Spirit had led us. The trip there had been full of Raven, 100's of them. Being blessed with a mother teaching her young to fly one morning, brought tears to my eyes and a quickening to my heart. Coyote was also there taking us his way, wandering in circle's to bring us at our meeting place and hour later than planned, however 4 minutes before being late. Meeting our sisters, and rushing to the camp ground. Getting one small tent up, before a cleansing downpour. We had opening ceremony in that small tent. Dry and Cozy. After one more tent was set up before night fall. I slept in the front of Anne's truck that night. I slept well with the ancient spirits around.

The next morning we drummed the sun up. It came up shining. We were camped in a cove of Red Rock Cliffs, so different than the last time. Then we were camped in Harsh dry desert conditions. With the wind constantly blowing. It didn't take long to know my tent was dry rotted..I would be sleeping in the truck. The tent would be going to the sacred Garbage!! We arranged camp, set up Sweat lodge, did ceremony and enjoyed the morning. The wind would come up and remind us of changing.

We went into the ruins, found the Great Kiva and again did ceremony. There were four of us. One for each direction. Two had flew in and rented cars. Anne and I had driven down. 3 of us had met before. One new sister Cynthia from California, seemed to be some upset at things. Suzy was like a Bubbly Fairy. Full of excitement and love taking everything in she could get. Her energy was contagious. It was a day of getting settled and sharing sister spirit.

Our first Sweat was Hot and a wonderful release, to ready us for our Quest. The morning of Solstice we drummed the sun up at the Great Kiva....We watched as the light moved around the Kiva to the same spot as it has since it was built. It was and awesome Quiet feeling of ONENESS that filled my heart. I was in such Gratitude for being a part of this Ceremony again. We departed after and went to spend our own time by ourselves.

I am a little ambiguous about, my time I know I sat with my back against an ancient dwelling for a long time. I said prayers, thanking Spirit for all I have been given. I felt it was a lot about knowing, I was fortunate to be here at this time. I felt so much change had occurred, in my life, and I knew I was moving fast into New Beginnings of Life, from a whole new perspective than I had ever been. I wasn't shown exactly what, it was more of knowing of things coming. I felt part of the Oneness of all. It was as if I had been welcomed here a new. I was excited and accepting of my part in creation.

The rest of the journey was as important as the personal Quest. We did wonderful healings under the Red Cliffs. I felt myself rise to a new vibration. The hands of my sisters were wonderful receivers of healing energy from Spirit. It entered my body and renewed me. Our Sweat that evening was such a sharing of Love and Spirit. I slept like a baby. Next day, we spent time in reflection. Anne did readings.

In the late afternoon we went on a hike led by Suzy to a Medicine Wheel she had found on a cliff. Cynthia our New found Sister had shared her intelligence and opened her heart and shared her love and knowledge. My heart was so touched by her, I couldn't stop the tears as we parted. I knew I would see Suzy and Anne soon. I feel that Cynthia and I will stay part of the circle and we will meet again.

The trip home was relaxing. I was full, I was renewed again with Spirit. It is such a great thing to go to places, and meet new people. To touch hearts as humans and feel the love that grows when we let Spirit led us.

It is difficult to live in a fast pace of life ever changing on Mother Earth. It is important to take the time to slow down and be with Spirit. Since I have been home...when things go to fast or are to Harsh....the wind blows, and Spirit says close your eyes come back with me to Chaco.....I do and I am again...in the Oneness of all energy and peace fills me...I am in Gratitude. Thank you again for being my friend and offering the experience. Also for being so unselfish to offer your Space to share....Noreen Solstice 2000

I looked around the circle and everyone was a globe of golden light....Debbie

Spirit said, "Have an anger sweat." I was responsible for the fire and the stone people.

During the Anger Sweat Lodge there were arrows flying out of the door and from the top of the lodge.

What a release of energy....Carolyn

Reflections of Chaco - As we sat in the Sweat Lodge, Anne had us form a wheel, with our arms. As I envisioned the wheel turning, it was as if I were twirling and twirling. I remember looking across the circle, at a woman named Patty. I could see her out of her body. I recognized her, as a Medicine woman I had been with many times in ceremony. I remembered her and a sister bond reconnected in my heart. It will always be there. If I never saw her again, the loving bond will give me comfort. I have kept a knowing in my soul. It has helped me in times, of aloneness. It reminds me that we are all part of the oneness.

We drummed the sun. Then departed, each alone asking for a vision. I went to the West of camp. I was led to a top of a large Rock formation. It was flat; I said prayers to the four directions. I gave offerings to Spirit. I sat down and reflected on what I was doing. Before long I was laying on the rock. Spirit brought the Wind. I knew I was to open myself and let it blow through me. As my mind was cleansed, Spirit sent a calming of my Spirit. I was told to lay quietly and listen. Many things were shown to me. I was told to sit up and look below. I could see a village below. I could see many dwellings in the cliffs. I knew where I lived in the village, and the work I did, was with herbs and stones. At that time I was alone without a mate. I watched the village until I became aware, that Spirit was ready for me to look up. Again the Wind came. I was again cleansed by it. As I looked to the sky, the Raven and its mate were souring above. I knew I was changed forever. I was opened up to remembering. Time had passed; I felt I was to reunite with the group. I walked back to our camp. All but two of us had returned. As we sat in circle, the wind again blew through my body, as if clearing it completely........Noreen

Just the right touch of ceremony and celebration.....Female Bonding

Coyote came to the butte and watched over us, the Eagle came and hovered over us, while the Wind Spirits blessed us. It was magical.
